Still working on the Australia travel log, but June has been a fun month for us. Here's a few photos... (Have I mentioned how much I love summer?) It's hot here and I love it! (Of course, I'm VERY thankful for air conditioning.)
Daniel Island Kids Triathlon
Ellen and Caleb participated for the 2nd time and did a great job! We were so proud of how they gave it their all and had a great time in the process. Ellen was a bit apprehensive about her race this year as all of her distances were doubled when she turned 11. But her worries were for naught - she was amazing!

I got to spend Father's Day with 2 great dads - mine and Rich. We worshipped on Saturday night thus got up bright and early Sunday morning to head out to Dewee's Island. Dewee's is a barrier island that can only be reached by boat. From the creek in our backyard it takes about an hour by boat to get to and is an absolutely gorgeous ride. Here's a few pics from the journey...

Downtown Charleston - often called the 'Holy City' because of all of the church steeples pointing heavenward.
This is what the bridge looked like 20 years ago after Hurricane Hugo dumped it into the Atlantic Ocean.
We finally reached Dewee's and had the beach to ourselves for several hours. The tide was ebbing which was great for finding Sand Dollars and other great shells. The tide pools at low tide were full of tiny fish and hermit crabs.
The day was topped off by dinner on the grill and plenty of fresh veggies straight from the garden. We all slept well...
