Logamotion Turns 6

Logamotion... the kid with a plan. Always. He's been planning his 6th birthday celebration for months now. His plans began with Wilbur and a trip to a museum several hours away with all of his family and friends. We quickly had to bring him back to reality and a bit more local. Thankfully, he happily settled for a morning at the aquarium to see the new penguin exhibit.

Of course, Daddy took the day off as is our family tradition and after a stop at Dunkin Donuts for breakfast (more like dessert) it was off to downtown and some aquarium fun. We encourage the kids to make gifts for each other's birthdays. Ellen made Logan a pin that said "It's my 6th birthday!" He proudly wore it all day.

The aquarium sits right on the Charleston Harbor and has some amazing views. You can often see dolphin frolicking right before your eyes in the water. I've often wondered if they get paid by the aquarium staff to entertain it's paying customers.

In true Logamotion fashion, it was off to his tennis lesson with Ellen, Caleb and Daddy and then to a much anticipated event in his little life. He has been told that when he is 6 years old, he would get to participate in the monthly horseback riding lessons that Ellen and Caleb take. And it just so happened that the March monthly lesson fell right on his birthday. He could hardly wait to take the reins of these beautiful creatures. Daddy rode with him as they all imagined they were cowboys in the wild, wild west.

You'd think that would have been enough excitement in the young boy's life for one day, but his plan was still in motion. He wanted to play basketball with his siblings, co-op friends and Daddy. So, it was Daddy vs. the kids in the driveway.

Caleb's gift to his little brother was a picture he drew and then framed of Logan playing basketball.

Oh, Logan. What a sweet little boy you are! But growing up so quickly. What a blessing it has been to watch you mature from a strong-willed little guy lacking all self-control to a purposeful young boy who knows what he wants, but realizes he still lacks much wisdom to attain it. I love Logan's excitement, enthusiasm and 'all-in' attitude in everything he does. I can't wait to see what Logan achieves for the Kingdom of God. If God calls Logan to evangelize all of communist China, I have no doubt Logan will pursue it with excitement, zeal and spiritual fervor to the glory of God! Meanwhile, I'm content to have him here conquering imaginary evil knights with his big brother. I love you Logan!
