The Power of Community

A like-minded community is a rare and beautiful treasure. The family we share the pics with below are a special part of our lives and that community that we've worked so hard to build and learn from. We are both doing My Father's World Exploring Countries and Cultures (a missionary/geography study) this year as a part of our schoolwork. The Moms and kids divide the children (big ones at one house, little ones at another house) for a weekly co-op where we do fun projects to go along with the study. Then we meet every few months for a fun family night where they show off what they've done and we fix a meal relating to the country they've studied. We had a slice of Sweden at our house last week-end (thank you to my Swedish brother-in-law for the help!)

The 2 families - Calm...

and Crazy!

Several years ago we were introduced to a Christian singer from Australia by the name of Colin Buchanan. His music is outstanding! It's kid's music that parents will actually enjoy and choose to listen to. Lots of Scripture memory. He's very creative - even has fun DVDs to go along with his songs. The boys put on super hero costumes and made up a dance to his song 'Super Saviour'.
They also made up an adorable dance to the song, "Are you Serving Captain Jesus?" also by Colin Buchanan. I'd upload the video to it but it's too big and I'm not tech savvy enough to make it a smaller file. Still learning...

Better go prepare for co-op tomorrow. It's our kid's favorite day of the week.
