Erie Canal and Lake Ontario

We finally left the peaceful Adirondacks headed west. Along the way we stopped in Syracuse at the Erie Canal Museum to learn more about this man made marvel that has fascinated us every time we study it. It was quite good. Lots of s'more questions. Even found this adorable little canal girl from the 1800s -
And this cute canal boat captain...
That evening we settled on the shores of Lake Ontario just outside of Niagara Falls, NY to answer those s'more questions.
The weather has been gorgeous. Warm! Look at this peaceful, calm water. The kids tried to see across this 'great' lake to Canada. Just a bit too far, even on this clear day. It's been a good trip - full of special family times and many memories. Logan even created a memory of his own - going toothless on us. Isn't he a cutie?
Betcha' can't guess where the next post will be from. Anyone??
