Canada!

After leaving the gorgeous falls, we had a choice to make. We could circle south of Lake Erie to our next destination in Ohio. Or we could go the northern route through Canada. The kids all unanimously declared they wanted to camp in a foreign country. This time Wilbur got to cross the border. Passports were checked again, but still not stamped much to the kid's disappointment once again. Thankfully, Canadians drive on the right side of the road and except for a different flag flying, we really didn't feel like we were in another country. In fact, the landscape reminded us very much of where Rich and I grew up in northern Illinois.
Although, we were thankful for the helpful metric equivalent signs.
After splashing in Lake Erie, the kids were quite proud to say they had dipped at least their feet into all 5 of the great lakes.
"Garba" (That's how Anna used to say "Rebekah" and, you guessed it, it's stuck. We all call her "Garba" now.)
After crossing back into the U.S. via the Ambassador Bridge in Detroit, we pulled into the driveway of our fun friends, the E. family of Toledo, OH. They had us all laughing continuously (when we weren't monopolizing their washing machine. Well, sometimes then, too). They fed us like royalty, took us to Sauder Village, which we all loved, and kept us giggling. Their like-minded friendship is a treasure. Their kids are gems.
Still loving what my camera can do. (And dreaming of new lenses to do even more...)
